Assistant Housekeeping & Hygiene Manager


Responsibilities:

General

  • Ensure provision of a satisfactory housekeeping service by allocating work to subordinates and checking the cleanliness and servicing of rooms, corridors, service pantry, outlets, public areas, back of house areas and exit stairs
  • Well coordinate with other departments to ensure housekeeping's smooth and professional operations at all times
  • Assign shift duties and supervise subordinates to maintain housekeeping standard and procedures;
  • Appraise appearance, discipline and efficiency of all staff under direct supervision and initiate immediate remedial action if necessary
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Housekeeping & Hygiene to train new staff member for day-to-day operations and compliance of the Association's policies and procedures
  • Participate in sourcing and contract renewal of service providers such as laundry and pest controls and liaise with the providers to ensure contractual compliance
  • Maintain a steady flow of communication to the Senior Manager, Housekeeping & Hygiene and Assistant Housekeeping (Public Area) Manager on all matters affecting the guest floor and public area
  • Assist in inventory taking of cleaning supplies & ensure sufficient cleaning supplies in stock according to the standard
  • Prepare reports in areas which require maintenance and repairs
  • To perform any duties assigned by the Supervisor

Housekeeping (Floor)

  • Maintain a safety working environment for employee by enforcing the Association's policies and procedures, including lost and found, key control, security and emergency procedures, health and safety for employee and guest
  • Ensure consumption of guest supplies is under control

Housekeeping (Pubic Area)

  • Ensure safety and sanitization of all facilities and cleaning equipment
  • Work with the Senior Manager, Housekeeping & Hygiene on routine cleaning services and pest control services in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Diploma or above in Hotel & Tourism or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in hotel industry with 3 years of experience at supervisory level
  • Customer oriented and able to work independently with least supervision
  • Good team player and be able to motivate the team effectively
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and Hotel Computer System
