Director of Stakeholder Engagement


Job Summary:

Reporting to the General Secretary / CEO and leads a team of 14 staff, the Director of Stakeholder Engagement is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to engage and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including various government/bureau, community partners, donors, volunteers, and YMCA members. To enhance the YMCA's visibility, impact and to establish fund raising capability.  At the same time, cultivating members to foster a collaborative environment that aligns with the YMCA vision and mission of:

  1. Enabling personal growth and fulfilling our social responsibility to the community, especially the youth;
  2. Ascertaining social needs and offering services to improve the quality of life in a sustainable environment for all people; and
  3. Fostering intercultural harmony through respect and understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement strategy that aligns with the YMCA's vision, mission and values.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with stakeholders, including government, community leaders, organizations, and current and potential donors/sponsors.

Membership development and services: Cultivate deeper more interactive relationships with members, in particular personalising engagement activities for voting members to foster a community that thrives on connection and mutual respect.

Communication: Lead the development of communication strategies that effectively convey the YMCA's mission, programs, and impact to internal and external stakeholders.

Event Management: Oversee the planning and execution of stakeholder engagement events, fundraising campaigns, and community outreach initiatives.

Collaboration: Work closely with members of the YMCA leadership team to achieve "one team one goal" culture, cohesive messaging and branding.

Analytics: Monitor and evaluate stakeholder engagement efforts, using data to assess impact and develop future strategies.

Advocacy: Represent the YMCA in government and community forums, stakeholder meetings, and public events, advocating for the needs and interests of the organization.

Appreciation of and alignment with YMCA's scope of operations and their challenges.

Person Specification:

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a variety of audiences.

Networking Skills: Have already established strong network within the corporate community and ability to apply these skills for securing awareness and sponsorship.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to connect with individuals at all levels of the organization and community.

Project Management: Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and feedback to inform strategies and measure success.

Tech-savvy: Proficient in using CRM software, social media platforms, and other digital communication tools.

Managerial Experience: At least 12 years' managerial experience in related field.

Innovative Thinker: Creative problem-solver who can develop and implement innovative engagement strategies.
