1.Are there any admission interviews?
Places are allocated according to the date the completed application received by the Kindergarten Office on a first come first served basis.
2.Who gets priority in admissions?
Priority of admissions goes to children of YMCAHK staff, siblings of students/graduates of YMCA of Hong Kong schools and children recommended by Toddlers' World (run by the YMCA of Hong Kong Preschool and Primary Leisure & Education Services).
3.How much are the school fees? Are there other additional fees?
For school year 2021/2022, morning class school fees are $6,200 per month ($62,000 per annum, 10 installments) and afternoon class school fees are $6,000 per month ($6,200 per annum, 10 installments). There may be adjustments in school fees each year, subject to SWD’s approval. School fees include daily snacks and all learning materials. Other fees are optional such as outing/educational visit fees. School uniforms and bags are mandatory. Please refer to the School Uniform page for details.
4.What is the Teacher:Student ratio?
We follow the requirement set out by the SWD of 1:14, although our ratio is usually much more favorable.
5.How many PN places are available each year?
There will be a maximum of 42 places (21 for AM and 21 for PM).
6.What is the medium of instruction?
English is the main medium of instruction.
7.What are the teachers’ qualifications?
We have a team of highly dedicated and experienced early childhood educators. All Class Teachers are registered with the SWD and are qualified childcare workers in Early Childhood Education who are trained to teach young children using English as the medium of instruction.
8.What are the school hours?
AM session: 8:45am to 11:45am
PM session: 1:30pm to 4:30pm
9.Do PN children get acceptance automatically into the CIKG(WK) K1 class?
Children from the pre-nursery class will automatically be offered places into the kindergarten’s K1 class, but a K1 application form must be submitted separately.
10.My child was not born in Hong Kong, what other supporting documents are required to be sent together with the application form?
Documents which will show child's right of stay in Hong Kong, for example, dependent visas, parent's work visas etc.
